Combined Edition
Incorporating Manuscript Texts
- Arranged by year, this contains all entries from the
manuscript volumes and the first edition of the Journal of Emily Shore (1891). Where
an entry exists in both a manuscript volume and the 1891
edition, the manuscript entry is presented along with a link
to the corresponding entry of the 1891 edition.

Virginia Press Centenary Edition
- This is a reproduction of the 1891 edition arranged
according to its chapter divisions and supplemented with
Barbara Timm Gates’ “Introductory” and endnotes from the
1991 University of Virginia Press reprint. The index from
the 1898 edition which was included in the 1991 reprint has
been omitted; the search facility can be used in its place.

Errata
The following items in the 1891 edition have been altered:
- Introduction (xii): the duplicated point “11” is now
numbered “12.”
- Chapter VII (113): dateline added for July 21.
