Mr. Forrest presents most respectfull Compts. to Mr. Adams.—Begs pardon for detaining the enclosed letter this long. [. . .] has made every enquiry from Major Clagett, who continued in the Army, and with it, until the End of the War.—and from Mr. Skipwith of Richmond in Virga., and cannot gain the least information of such person. These two Gentlemen are of opinion that His representation cannot be true.
