Benjamin Rush to John Adams

Dear Sir / Philada June 16th 1785

The bearer of this letter Mr Saml: Fox is descended from an ancient & very respectable quaker family, and is a young man of amiable character. As the friend of the worthy, and the public representative of your countrymen in great Britain I beg leave to commend him to your patronage.
