James Monroe to Thomas Boylston Adams

Permit me to present to yr. acquaintance the bearer Mr. Wilcocks of Phila. a young gentn. of merit who proposes visiting Holland & who will be happy in being known to you. Confiding in the pleasure you will have in paying attention to the deserving young men of our country, I have taken the liberty of presenting him to you for that purpose, & to assure you at the same time of the respect & esteem with which I am yr. very humble servt
