John Quincy Adams to Thomas Boylston Adams

5 Jun. 1797

My dear brother Amsterdam 5 June 1797.

A short letter for the Secretary of State, which you will send with the late Newspapers and a price current. I find myself quite at a loss here for news, and of course for the materials of correspondence. Among other Americans here are Mr: and Mrs: Marshall, arrived last week from London. This day is a holiday of course none of the Merchants come in from their Country seats. I have yet scarcely done any thing.

Your affectionate brother
