John Quincy Adams to Charles Adams

7 Aug. 1797

My dear brother. London 7 August 1797.

I have the pleasure of introducing to your acquaintance Mr: Mason the King’s botanist, who is going to America with the intention of collecting botanical information and knowledge relative to that Country.

I have had no personal acquaintance with the Gentleman, myself, but at the desire of my worthy friend Mr: W Vaughan of this place, and from a disposition to promote as far as may be in my power the objects of his pursuit, I am happy in recommending him to the attentions and services of my friends and of you in particular.

I am with the warmest fraternal affection, your brother
