Sir, Department of State, Washington,
June 5th. 1807.

In answer to your letter of the 13th. Ult, I have to inform you that there is no vacances in the Consulate for the Island of St. Thomas. Mr. James McGreggor, of Pennsylvania, fills that office at this time, as he has done since the 16th. Jany. last, when he was appointed to it by the President. I am &c
