To Thomas Jefferson from James Monroe, 10 January 1826

Dear Sir Jany 10. 1826.

I regret that it will not be in my power to dine with you to day—Judge Nelson is with me & I cannot leave him. I will be with you as soon as in my power, and certainly as much as the urgent state of my affairs will permit. I hope that you were not injurd, by your ride, on yesterday.

With the greatest respect & regard dear sir yours

James Monroe

MHi.
