I have received a Letter by the Baron [Steuben;] and take the earl[iest opportu]nity to return the Inclosur[e].

I could readily hav[e excused yo] ur sending it t[o me]—[I have] so bad an opin[ion] of the writer of that Let[ter to] you, that I wish never to [hear] or see any thing more fro[m so in] famous a character. I am—Dr Sir Yr Most Obed [Servt]
