Sir	Providence 27 Aug 1799.

Being informed that a Naval Hospital is to be established at Newport take the liberty of recommending to your Notice Doctor Mason of that Town as Chief Physician. From the best information I can obtain, believe him to be a Gentleman well qualified for the Appointment.
