Sir	Philadelphia May 18th 1800

Mr. Dayton the senator has presented me from you, a letter from your father, with an elegant present of a monument, in honor of the memory of Gen. Washington. I pray you to convey the inclosed letter, expressing my gratitude, to Glasgow, & to accept of my thanks for your care.

I am Sir your obliged & obedient humble ser.
