To James Madison from David Montague Erskine, 10 July 1807

July 10th. 1807.

Mr. Erskine presents his Complts. to Mr. Madison, and requests the Favor to be informed whether the Communications between His Majesty’s Minister & Consuls, and the Senior Officer of His Majesty’s Ships, now lying in Hampton Roads, is intended to be interdicted, by the President’s Proclamation of the 2d. of July.
